The bilateral discussion is hoped to further foster the long cordial relationship between the two countries and to explore areas of opportunities beneficial to both countries. The Minister of Industry and Primary Resources hoped that established companies from Germany would continue to consider Brunei Darussalam as a place for investing; particularly in the areas presented by:
- the Brunei Halal initiatives including manufacturing/processing of halal products,
- the possibility of research and innovation collaborations in biodiversity and its products potentials through the Brunei Darussalam’s Heart of Borneo initiative, and
- opportunities in shrimps / production
Present in attendance during the bilateral discussion are Puan Hajah Normah Suria Hayati binti PJDSMDSU (Dr.) Haji Awang Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR), His Excellency Ambassador and officials of The Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany in Brunei Darussalam, accompanying officials from Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development Germany, officials from Foreign Affairs Germany, representative of Ghanim (Brunei) Sdn Bhd. and MIPR’s officials.
The Meeting was held at an international Hotel at Jerudong. The business delegation from Germany comprises of high ranking businessmen from various business entities in Germany including in the healthcare, pharmaceuticals and architecture sectors.
